Mischa Barton

Barton has been in the theater in film, television and theater. She is British-American. Barton was the first to make her New York City debut at the Lincoln Center with Tony Kushner's Slavs! and played the lead in James Lapine's Twelve Dreams. In 1996 she made her first appearance as an actor with the appearance of a short part in All My Children. She was also a voice actor in the animated show of Nickelodeon KaBlam! From 1996 to 1997, she was the voice of a character in the Nickelodeon animated KaBlam! The first time she was recognized for her acting was in Lawn Dogs, a drama with Sam Rockwell. Her most notable movies include M. Night Shyamalan's psychological film The Sixth Sense (1998) and The romantic comedy Notting Hill (1998). In 1999, she appeared in Pups, an independent crime drama. Barton performed the role of Evan Rachel Wood's love interest in ABC's Once and Again in 2001 and also in the independent film Lost and Delirious in 2001. The actress played Marissa Cooper in the 2003-2006 season of the Fox show The O.C., for which she was awarded two Teen Choice Awards. Barton was well-known for her role, as well as Entertainment Weekly named her the year's "It Girl" in 2003. Barton has since appeared in the comedy St Trinian's as well as the drama Closing the Ring directed by Richard Attenborough and the drama Closing the Ring.
